Applicants can apply for up a number of internship areas in which they are qualified. Applicants are screened by human resources staff and selected based on the following criteria:
  • Relevant experience and verbal and writing skills.
  • Ability to answer the questions in article from articulately.
  • Commitment to complete entire program.
  • Faith statement.

Social Media + Copywriter Intern

Forward-thinking, fast paced social media and events agency looking to hire an intern with strong copywriting skills and in depth understanding of social media and digital landscape. The intern hired for this position will need strong critical thinking skills in order to integrate into the vibrant and passionate team.

Interns hoping to gain a ton of great online + marketing + social media experience should apply. 

Responsibilities Will Include:
  • Writing a minimum of 3 blog posts a week for our online site.
  • Research new and cool stories.
  • Sharing content via social media platforms.
  • Proofread other writer's stories for grammatical errors. 
  • Participate in weekly conference call with Managing Editor.

Requirements:
  • Students applying for this internship should have Marketing/Business backgrounds or majors. 
  • 2 years of experience of web, social media and digital experience.
  • A solid background in copywriting needed.
  • Internship is mostly remote, but intern will be required to meet in person 1-2 days every 1-2 weeks (Zimbabwe, Harare) 
  • Intern will be required to meet with brands and present information + reports, must have strong presentation skills.
  • 20 - 30 hrs / weekly.

Social Media


Responsibility:

  • Help to create & plan social media posts.
  • Assist in the evaluation and optimization of social media accounts.
  • Assist in the set up of online advertising campaigns.
  • Assist in the management and analysis of online advertising campaigns.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks and functions within the office.
Internships are initially unpaid. Based on work ethic, quality of work and your contribution to the company, paid opportunities may be offered after a 6 month period.

Minimum Requirements:
Education: Working towards Bachelors Degree or Masters Degree in Interaction Design, Web Design or Graphic Design.
Availability: Two full work days per week (8:30am - 5:30pm)

  • Previous experience with Facebook pages for Business, Google AdWords, and Google Analytics a plus, but not necessary.

  • Creates, writes and curates the content calendar, and works with clients to shape it.
  • Play an active role in the research, planning and development of strategic corporate communications programs.
  • Moderates community conversation, promotes positive conversation.
  • Creates effective and efficient workflows for communication between parties.
  • Assists account teams and streamlines client communication.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of social media profiles across various platforms.
  • Establishes personal relationships with key influencers where necessary.
  • Develops short content bits and/or participates in development of bigger content pieces.
  • Advocates for the company directly among the community in the form of short responses and posts.
  • Implements tracking solutions to measure activity in the community, define for the client which metrics indicate success and report back on progress.
  • Utilizes data and sourcing tools to find targeted influencers to prepare for campaign launches or sustaining efforts.
  • Brainstorms consistently on innovative ways to debut content and create social programs.
  • Enhances visibility/positive image and reputation of the client, while promoting consistency in tone and message content.
  • Design, create and manage promotions and Social ad campaigns.
Qualifications:
  • 1 year or relevant social media experience or corporate PR experience, showing proven editorial placements in business media.
  • Effective writing, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Deep grasp of all things social media with an eye towards the future – the platforms, the media opportunities, the current state and best practices. 
  • Willing to contribute creatively, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences effectively.
  • Working knowledge of social media monitoring tools. 
  • Critical and structured thinker with analytical and problem solving abilities 
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills; able to work quickly under pressure, handling and prioritizing multiple assignments.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and follow-up.
